Welcome to Horizon Park!

NEWS RELEASE: MAY 30, 2007

For Immediate Release -

TORONTO, Can.—Shawn Parker and Matt Boismier are proud to announce the launch of Horizon Park Media.

Horizon Park is a joint venture between two of Canada’s brightest young creative talents and is focused on fostering creativity through innovation. Horizon Park’s goals are: (1) to be the premiere screenplay consulting service in Canada (2), release high quality graphic novels and sequential art, and (3) premiere two feature length films per year under the Horizon Park Media banner. Each of Horizon Park’s three distinct branches (Consulting Division, Media Arts Division Film Production Division) focuses on one of these specific goals.

Horizon Park presents an exciting opportunity for anyone who has ever said, “I want to write a movie.” the staff at Horizon Park is composed of professional media personnel, including President Shawn Parker, screenwriter and author of Wireless and Dead Men Tell Tall Tales.

Horizon Park knows that the North American creative community is composed of brilliant young artists who, despite immeasurable talent, are limited in the number of resources that can help them break into the film and graphic novel industries. Horizon Park provides aspiring writers the opportunity to learn how to write a script, ensure that scripts are marketable and grant access to other professional industry personnel. A writer doesn’t need to live in Los Angeles to make it in the film industry– they just need a fresh idea, thick skin and a dash of talent.

Horizon Park is poised to provide clients with an invaluable creative service as well as exciting commercial properties. For creative artists looking to break into comics, Horizon Park will be holding an open casting call for material to be included in the company’s first ever anthology release. SUGAR: Four Sweet Tales, the first children's book from Parker and Boismier, will be out in the Fall of '07. Also, Basin of the Soul, the first graphic novel from the Media Arts Division, will bow in Q2 2008 through a limited release to select retailers.

I Hate Dating, the first independent film from Horizon Park, is currently in development and will be lensed in 2008.
