WIRELESS

Thought I'd drop a quick note about the "BIG" project I've been working on since last September. As some of you may or may not know, I wrote a feature called WIRELESS last fall for Midori Multimedia/Dog Gone Mad Productions and producer Ken Nakamura. I finished the script in late November, and we entered pre-production in January. I've been lucky enough to have been given the chance to do a little "producing" myself; contacting agents, writing letters to prospective cast members, etc. etc. etc. It sounds pretty exciting, but let me tell you- it has been the most nerve racking experience of my life! When I called Bruce Greenwood's agent the first time, I was a stuttering mess- three weeks later, I was calling the reps for Ralph Fiennes like a seasoned pro (okay, maybe not, but I was getting better, bit by bit!).

I'll keep everyone updated as we press on, but as it stands, we're set to go before the cameras in a few short months! It's amazing to sit in on production meetings with the director and producer as they talk about our "small" budget and having to be careful with the little money we have; this thing has a $10 million budget! I guess that doesn't go far in terms of making movies.

Very excited to actually get this thing going - we had a few setbacks with casting, but we have some INCREDIBLE actors on board, and I shall be naming names shortly! I can tell you that Bruce Greenwood, a great Canadian actor, is attached, and we are lucky enough to have Derek VanLint directing. Derek was the cinematographer on Ridely Scott's ALIEN - if you've ever seen that movie, you'll understand why I'm so excited to work with him! For now, enjoy the teaser one-sheet.
